Mahfouz A. Adedimeji is a Professor of Pragmatics and Applied English Linguistics in the Department of English, Faculty of Arts, University of Ilorin. He obtained his academic degrees from the University of Ilorin and received advanced training in diverse areas from Governors State University, Illinois, USA; Virtual Institute for Higher Education in Nigeria (VIHEP), Virtual Institute for Higher Education in Africa (VIHEAF), University of Ghana, Ghana, and Notre Dame University, Indiana, USA. A Fulbright scholar and UNDP consultant, Prof. Adedimeji is the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of Ahman Pategi University, Patigi, Kwara state. He previously served as Head of Corporate Affairs Directorate and Director of the Centre for Peace and Strategic Studies, University of Ilorin. He has also won/co-won the research and conference grants of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, the Council for the Development of Social Research in Africa and the Nigerian Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund). A scholar and columnist, he is widely published both nationally and internationally.
